Itinerary
Arrive at Aizawl – The Capital City of The State Mizoram also called as Land of Blue Mountains. This city is famous for evergreen hills and dense bamboo jungles.
Today morning proceed to visit Aizawl Zoological Park – House to rare species of animals and birds found only in Mizoram. Later visit Mizoram state museum, which showcases culture of Mizos. Explore various sections of the museum like textile gallery, ethnology gallery, history gallery, Archaeology Terrace, Anthropology section etc Evening free at Bara Bazaar for some local shopping.
Today board a flight for Agartala. Arrive At Agartala – One of the largest city in north-east region, surrounded by pristine forests, beautiful valleys, stunning lakes & mesmerising temples.
Today proceed the The lake city Udaipur on arrival visit Tripura Sundari Temple also popularly known as Matabari Temple which is one of 51 shaktipeethas. Continue your journey to visit Neermahal (also known as Lake Palace)– a former royal palace built by Maharaja of Tripura Kingdom Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya bahadur. Board a boat and enjoy beautiful ride to reach the Mahal. Return to Agartala, on arrival visit Ujjayanta Palace – converted as a state museum and the former palace of the Kingdom of Tripura. Evening free to visit Agartala Bazaar for local shopping.
Early morning proceed to visit Unakoti Rock carvings – an ancient wonder, the hidden gem of Tripura. It is ‘Shaiba’ (Shiva) pilgrimage and dates back to 7th – 9th centuries if not earlier. The marvellous rock carvings, murals with their primitive beauty, waterfalls are not to be missed. Unakoti means one less than a crore and it is said that these many rock cut carvings are available here. Among the rock cut carvings, the central Shiva head and gigantic Ganesha figures deserve special mention. The central Shiva head known as ‘Unakotiswara Kal Bhairava’ is about 30 feet high including an embroidered head-dress which itself is 10 feet high. Evening return to Agartala.
Today board a flight to Imphal – capital city of Manipur. Home to rich history and tribal culture. Evening one can take a stroll in Ima market – a local market displaying craft & artifacts. A unique all women’s market having around 3000 “Imas” or mothers who run the stalls.
Today morning proceed to visit Kangla Fort – Kangla was the ancient capital of Manipur and a number of Meetei monarchs have ruled the destination from this fort. The existence of this fort dates back to 33 AD. Pay homage to Govindajee Mandir – the largest Vaishnava temple dedicated to Radha Krishna. Later commence our journey to Moirang Town known for its historical importance. Visit INA Memoral Complex (Subject to operation) at Moirang – this was the place where Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the Indian tricolour as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian National Army for the first time during the Second World War. Experience boat ride around the Loktak lake – The largest freshwater lake in South Asia, famous for its circular swamps. This lake is located at Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is the only floating national park in the world. Return to Imphal for overnight stay.
Today proceed to Kohima – the capital of the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. On the way visit Kisama – home to Naga Heritage village and famous for the Hornbill festival, which promotes the cultural heritage of Nagaland. On arrival at Kohima visit Cathedral Church of Kohima known for Asia’s largest 16 feet high wood cross. The architecture of Church incorporates many elements of traditional Naga houses. Later visit Kohima War Cemetery, which lies on the battle ground of Garrison Hill. The cemetery contains 1,420 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War. At the highest point in the cemetery stands the Kohima cremation Memorial commemorating 917 Hindu and Sikh soldiers whose remains were cremated in accordance with their faith
Today head towards Jorhat – one of the important cities in the state of Assam.
Early morning start your journey to explore Majuli – the cultural capital and the cradle of Assamese civilization for the past 500 year. It is one of the world’s largest inhabited river islands in Brahmaputra River. This island is famous for several satras i.e. Vaishnavite monasteries. At present there are 22 satras. Some dating back to the 16th century, founded by Sankardeva, the father of Assamese culture. Board a Govt. ferry for Majuli island (Subject to operation) to explore Sri Sri Samaguri Satra and get acquainted to its unique mask making tradition. You can try rice beer, a tribal drink of this region. Return to Jorhat. Take a stroll at Bhutiya market for some local shopping
Proceed to Jorhat airport. Board the flight for your home town. Tour Concludes.
